Where Dialogue Meets Action

A successful edition focused on bold, responsible AI innovations for SDG 3.
Senior secondary and undergraduate students from across the region took part in online sessions and the live finals at GITEX Asia.

Teams tackled pressing challenges with responsible AI — from disease surveillance to inclusive fitness tech.

Public Health Systems

Disease surveillance, resource optimisation — bridging data gaps for stronger communities.

Mental Health & Well‑being

Accessible support, early detection, digital therapy tools designed for real human needs

Active Lives & Sports

Performance analytics, injury prevention, and inclusive fitness technology for all abilities.

Scalable & Responsible AI

Ethical, transparent AI that bridges global health gaps with lasting social value.

The AI4SDG3 Challenge called students to build scalable AI solutions for good health, well-being, and active lives. From public health systems and mental health to sports analytics, teams developed impactful prototypes. The grand finale took place in Singapore at GITEX ASIA, where selected finalists pitched their ideas live.

We successfully ran the AI4SDG3 Challenge from March 23 to April 7, 2026, bringing together senior secondary and undergraduate students for an in-person finale at GITEX Asia in Singapore. The challenge focused on AI innovations for public health, mental well-being, and active lifestyles — all in support of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

The AI4SDG3 Challenge welcomed teams of up to five members, comprising senior secondary (high school) and undergraduate students from the Asia region who were able to attend the onsite finals in Singapore.

For the final event, participating teams received complimentary entry passes to GITEX Asia, lunch on the competition day, as well as prizes and recognition for winning solutions. Travel and accommodation were arranged by the participants themselves.

The journey unfolded in several stages. Registration and kick‑off allowed student teams to enrol online and join the opening sessions, drawing participants from multiple countries in the region. From 23 March to 7 April, the online phase comprised five expert‑led workshops and two mentoring slots per team, helping participants shape their AI prototypes for health and wellbeing. A selection process followed, where shortlisted teams received invitations to the live finals at GITEX Asia based on solution originality, feasibility, and social impact. The grand finale took place on 10 April 2026, with finalists pitching in person before a jury of AI and global health experts. Winners received prizes and recognition at one of Asia’s premier technology events.

The AI4SDG3 Challenge culminated successfully at GITEX Asia in Singapore, bringing together student innovators from across the region. Teams demonstrated how responsible AI can address real‑world health challenges. We extend our gratitude to all participants, mentors, and partners for making this edition impactful.
